ACC and HRCM sign agreement to protect human rights

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) have signed an agreement to work together to protect human rights and promote integrity. The agreement was signed by the President of HRCM Mariyam Muna and by the President of ACC Adam Shamil.

Speaking at the ceremony, member of ACC Thoha Mohamed said the agreement would facilitate the two commissions working together and highlighted the overall improvements and positive changes that would be achieved as a result of the agreement.

Under the agreement, the two commissions will work together to protect human rights violated by corruption, prevent and prohibit such corruption and promote integrity. The agreement also includes the spreading of public awareness, technical assistance, and cooperation to enhance the technical capacity and skills of the employees of the two institutions.
