Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has highlighted that the Maldives will continue to support Sri Lanka in its efforts for economic revitalisation. He made the remarks during a courtesy call paid by Presidential Envoy and Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka Niranjan Deva Aditya
During the meeting, Minister Shahid welcomed Presidential Envoy Niranjan and reflected on the long history of bilateral relations and the strong people-to-people ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. He highlighted that Maldives and Sri Lanka have been crucial to each other’s development in the past and will continue to support Sri Lanka in their efforts for economic revitalisation.
Furthermore, Minister Shahid and Presidential Envoy Niranjan reiterated the commitment of both governments to continue working closely together, bilaterally and in the international fora, on issues of shared importance.
