Ambassador from the Maldives to Saudi Arabia Mohamed Khaleel has endorsed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for a second term in office. Khaleel, who is also the Non-Resident Ambassador to Palestine, said the Islamic world supports President Solih’s foreign policy.
Other ambassadors have also come out in support of President Solih for the upcoming presidential election, including Ambassador to Malaysia Ali Hussain Didi. He said that President Solih has established peace and stability which has allowed the Maldives to successfully pursue sustainable development.
The presidential election will be held on September 9. Individuals who have officially announced their bid to run in the election are President Solih, former President Abdulla Yameen, President of Maldives National Party (MNP) Mohamed Nazim, and former Attorney General (AG) Dr. Mohamed Munavvaru.
