The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has revealed that two Japanese naval ships of the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force have arrived in the Maldives.
The three-day visit of JS Uraga and JS Awaji is to further enhance bilateral relations and promote peace between Japan and the Maldives. The visit is scheduled to include meetings with the MNDF leadership.
Principal Director of MNDF Coast Guard Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Rizmy Waleed visited the two vessels and interacted with senior officials of the vessels. Officers of the MNDF Coast Guard were also present to welcome the ships.
