Maldives records half a million tourist arrivals in three months

Ministry of Tourism has revealed that half a million tourists have visited the Maldives so far in 2023.

Speaking regarding the milestone, Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom said 500,597 tourists had visited the country as of March 26. He also noted the joint efforts of the sector, the government, and the public in progressing the tourism sector.

Statistics from the tourism ministry show that the highest number of tourists arrived from Russia. In this regard, a total of 60,590 tourists arrived from Russia, 52,734 arrived from India, and 45,545 arrived from the United Kingdom (UK) as of March 26. In addition to these three countries, the top 10 markets for the Maldives include Italy, Germany, France, the United States (US), China, Switzerland, and Poland.

The statistics also show that the Maldives is recording a daily average of 6,501 tourist arrivals. The government aims to record 1.9 million tourist visits by the end of 2023.
