Maldives expects Korean Air to begin flight operations this year

Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has expressed confidence that Korean Air will begin flight operations to the Maldives this year. He made the statement during a meeting with Lee Jin-bok, the Special Envoy of the President of South Korea and Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs.

During the meeting, Minister Mausoom and Special Envoy Lee discussed ways to strengthen tourism cooperation. At the meeting, Minister Mausoom assured that the two countries will work together to increase tourist arrivals connecting flights from South Korea. He also expressed confidence that Korean Air will begin flight operations to the Maldives this year, which would significantly increase tourist arrivals.

Also at the meeting, Minister Mausoom and Vice President of Korea Tourism Organisation Lee Jae-Hwan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance tourism cooperation. The MoU is expected to increase tourist arrivals from South Korea, adding that the Maldives is a popular travel destination for South Koreans.
