ECM seeks 5,600 officials for presidential election

The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) is seeking 5,600 officials to be stationed at polling stations during the upcoming presidential election.

ECM is accepting applications from individuals over the age of 18 who are not senior members of any political party or campaigning for any candidate. Applicants should have the educational credentials and experience necessary to fulfill their duties as an official.

ECM will only accept applications from individuals who are not serving a sentence over a criminal offence. Interested individuals are required to submit their application by 1300hrs, June 22, and the electoral body will extend the deadline if they do not receive the necessary number of applications.

On the day of the election, the presiding officers at polling stations will receive a USD97 wage while their assistants will receive USD78. In addition, officials will receive USD65 and reserve officers will receive USD32.
