State Trading Organisation (STO) has brought the first shipment of onions, eggs and potato to be sold at cheaper prices during Ramadan.
STO stated that it has begun selling these items in its stores. STO will begin widely distributing these items from March 12. The Roadha Mart to be opened in Hulhumale' Phase II will also start selling these items by March 20. In addition, these items will be distributed to STO stores in 11 atolls. STO will assist in delivering the items to other islands in the region.
Every Ramadan STO sells onions, eggs and potato at cheap prices. These items are the most in demand during Ramadan. As the demand for these products increases, the prices of these products rise in the shops and markets of the Maldives. Therefore, STO imports these items every Ramadan to provide these items to the people at cheap prices.
