State Trading Organisation (STO) has decided to open a store in Hulhumale' Phase II before Ramadan.
STO stated that one of the biggest complaints of the residents of Hulhumale Phase II is the lack of access to cheap goods. STO said construction of a store is now underway and will open in March. The store will also offer regular imports from the company including, onions, garlic and eggs imported for the month of Ramadan. In addition, the company is also making efforts to develop a cashier-less store in Hulhumale'. The store is also scheduled to open in March.
STO is expanding its businesses with its People’s Choice Supermart reopened in March 2022 with major changes. The facility is now open to the general public to sell their products including spaces for bakeries, bookshops and beauty products and children's toys. STO stated that its aim is to invest in innovative ideas and do business that the public does not do.
