Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has begun a training exercises near Kanuhura, Lhaviyani Atoll.
The training exercises are being conducted 50 nautical miles outside Kanuhura and military officers will be using pyrotechnical machine guns. The officers will be shooting at a distance of 4,600m long and 300m high. The lowest shooting distance will be at sea level.
The training exercises will be conducted from 0700hrs to 1700hrs and will conclude on February 17. The purpose of the exercises is to increase the capabilities of the MNDF.
