Gov’t says intelligence reports are shared with relevant agencies

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has stated that intelligence reports are shared with the relevant agencies. He made the statement while responding to questions at the Parliament of the Maldives.

At the sitting, Parliamentarian Ibrahim Rasheed said that the parliamentary inquiry of the terrorist attack of May 6, 2021, showed the failure of institutions on sharing intelligence reports. Additionally, Minister Imran said that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is briefed on the intelligence reports and that a special platform has been established to share intelligence efficiently. He also noted that the investigation into the May 6 attack resulted in the prosecution and imprisonment of 10 suspects. He added that one of the suspects confessed to his crime and the investigation is ongoing.
