Efforts to develop sports are bearing fruit: President Solih

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has highlighted that the administration’s efforts to develop sports and provide opportunities for local athletes are bearing fruit. He made the remark during a meeting with the men's national beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams. He was joined at the meeting at the President's Office by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof, and officials of the volleyball and bodybuilding associations.

The national beach volleyball team recently won gold at the Central Asian Beach Volleyball Tournament and the national bodybuilding team won gold, silver, and bronze at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships. It is the first gold medal for the Maldives in the beach volleyball tournament and bodybuilding championship.

Speaking with the teams, President Solih congratulated them on their recent success at the international sports tournaments. He assured the teams that the administration remains committed to providing more training opportunities and that beach volleyball and water sports are two fields that could be developed further.

Also at the meeting, Minister Mahloof highlighted the administration's achievements in developing sports over the past four years, including the recent wins for the beach volleyball and bodybuilding teams. He also extended his gratitude to President Solih for his commitment to developing sports.
