Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has said expired licenses can be used until the end of February.
The transport ministry suspended the issuance of road vehicle licenses on January 29 in preparation for the introduction of digital licenses. The ministry said the expired licenses can be used until February 14. However, the deadline has now been extended until the end of February. The deadline was extended to address any inconveniences that the public may encounter as the ministry prepares the new software for digital licenses.
The transport ministry launched the digital license service through its Savaaree Information Management System (SIMS) Customer Portal on February 5. The portal is used within the state's eFaas system. Users can log in to the portal with their eFaas login details and view their licenses digitally.
The transport ministry stated other license-related services will be available by logging into the portal in addition to digital licenses.
