State Trading Organisation (STO) has revealed that it supplied over 89,000 bags of staple food items to atolls in January 2023.
STO aims to ensure that staples are sufficiently available in the city and atoll. As part of its efforts, STO has supplied 89,909 bags of staple food items across the country. As such, STO supplied 33,298 bags of flour, 14,923 bags of sugar, and 41,683 bags of rice.
Furthermore, STO said a total of 1,601 orders were received from the Greater Male' Region in January which resulted in the distribution of 4,600 bags of flour, 1,390 bags of sugar and 3,340 bags of flour. As per statistics, STO supplied 51,640 bags of staples which includes 24,152 bags of flour, 7,893 bags of sugar and 19,595 bags of flour, via its regional shops.
Meanwhile, 13,133 bags of flour, 6,107 bags of sugar, and 17,637 bags of rice were distributed via STO Agents in atolls.
