Nominations for BroadCom forwarded to Parliament Committee

The President’s Office has revealed the names of five candidates for the vacant post of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) have been forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions for consideration.

The seat of a member of Broadcom became vacant after Ahmed Qais, who was the Vice-President of the Commission, resigned on January 8. The names of five candidates for the vacant Broadcom member post have been sent to Parliament of the Maldives by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the order of priority.

The seven-member commission currently consists of Chairperson Maryam Waheeda, Vice Chairperson Mohamed Fazeen and members Amjad Waheed, Ali Yusuf, Aminath Ameena and Shifla Ibrahim.
