Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of felicitations to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, M.U.M. Ali Sabry, on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day.
In the message, the foreign minister conveyed warm greetings and sincere good wishes of the Government and the people of Maldives, and on his own behalf, to his counterpart, the Government, and the people of Sri Lanka on this momentous occasion.
The minister also expressed commitment to enhancing the close bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and upholding the deep ties of friendship that have always existed between the countries. He also expressed confidence the relations between both countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
Furthermore, the minister also noted his delight to visit Sri Lanka and attend the official celebrations held on the auspicious occasion of its 75th anniversary of independence.
