Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has decided to USD0.3 for the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus service in Villimale’ from February 3.
Passengers can travel on the buses by using MasterCard/Visacard, QR ticketing, or by paying for tickets. Elderly persons above the age of 65, children under three years old, persons with disabilities, and school students can still use the service for free.
MTCC is using six 15-seat electronic vehicles (EV) buses for the service in Villimale’. The service is available seven days a week between 5-10 minutes at each bus stop. The bus route and schedule were designed with easy access to schools, beach areas, offices, industrial areas, hospital, and ferry terminal, with the aim of providing easy access to every resident of the island, regardless of where they live.
MTCC launched RTL minibus service in Villimale' on January 20. Over 8,000 passengers used the bus service during the first four days and MTCC stated the bus service is widely popular among residents of Villimale'.
