The President's Office has extended the deadline for applications for the vacant membership position of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) to February 8.
The President's Office said the decision was made as the initial deadline of February 6 falls on a government holiday. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih declared February 6 a holiday as he is scheduled to deliver his Presidential Address to the Parliament of the Maldives.
The President’s Office opened applications to fill the vacant seat in MBC after the resignation of Vice President Ahmed Gais on January 9. The commission consists of seven members.
