Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has temporarily suspended issuing driving licenses for road vehicles.
The transport ministry said the decision to temporarily suspend issuing driving license was taken in order to carry out the data migration work required before the ministry's newly developed software services can be launched. All services connected to license will be temporarily suspended until February 4. The ministry also announced that road vehicles will be allowed to drive using expired licenses until February 14.
The government stated that the main purpose of the data migration work is to improve the quality of services provided by the ministry to the public and to provide easy access to services.
