Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been tasked with conducting a technical and financial feasibility study for the project to build a bridge connecting Villingili and Kooddoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
The agreement was signed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTCC Adam Azim and Shaana Farooq, the Director General at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure. MTCC is tasked with completing the feasibility within 180 days at a cost of USD1.6 million.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has assured he will fulfill his pledge to connect Villingili and Kooddoo and fulfill the expectations of the residents. The islands are a five-minute speedboat ride away from each other.
