President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed that State Trading Orgnisation (STO) will be tasked with establishing a fish processing facility in Fuvahmulah City.
At a campaign rally in Fuvahmulah, President Solih said that the administration will bring the development envisioned by the residents and solve the challenges faced by fishermen. He noted that the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has purchased three new vessels, which will soon be brought to the Maldives.
The administration has been developing fish processing facilities and upgrading existing facilities and resources to develop the fisheries sector in the southernmost part of the Maldives. As part of the efforts, STO will soon be contracted to build a facility in Fuvahmulah City to allow local fishermen to easily sell their catch.
