BML announces recipients of Sports Scholarship

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of the BML Sports Scholarship introduced as part of the series of 12 high-impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The scholarship was announced to support athletes achieve their sporting potential through targeted programs and provide fully funded scholarships for top national athletes to train and develop at recognized high-performance training centres worldwide.

President of Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) Mohamed Abdul Sattar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of BML Karl Stumke, officials from the MOC and representatives from the national sporting associations attended the ceremony held at the Male’ Table Tennis Hall to announce the winners.

The recipients of the BML Sports Scholarship are Mariyam Ru-ya Ali, Mohamed Minhal Shamin, Mohamed Salim Abdul Samad, Shuba Mohamed Shareef, Fathimath Jumana Nimal, Moosa Munsif Ahmed, and Layan Mohamed Shamin. The scholarships were open to all registered national sports associations and the athletes were selected by MOC.
