Maafaru Airport to start selling jet fuel in February

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has made preparations to sell jet fuel at Maafaru International Airport from February onward. IASL stated that preparations are underway and the equipment used has been tested to begin the sale of jet fuel.

Speaking to PSM News, General Manager Mumthaz Ali said that the temporary fuel farm to be developed at the airport will have a storage capacity of 400,000 litres. He said that the tanks needed to store fuel have been moved to the airport now.

In addition, Mumthaz said testing rounds are being conducted due to the increased demand for the fuel farm. He also said the equipment used is being tested and it will officially start service in February.

IASL, which manages Maafaru International Airport, is making efforts to improve and expand the quality of services provided at the airport. The airport has been catering to international flights since July 2020.
