Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the new bus service in Villimale’ will be free-of-charge for the first two weeks. MTCC will be using six 11-seat environment-friendly buses for the service.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said that MTCC has not yet determined the amount to be taken as fare after the first two weeks. He said the state-owned company aims to provide affordable and efficient services to passengers. He also expressed hope that the bus service will ease the convenience of residents in Villimale’.
MTCC commenced the minibus service in Male’ City in September 2022 and provided the service free of charge for the first four weeks. The minibus service has become highly popular in the capital city.
