MIRA launches new website and mobile app

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has launched a new website and mobile application to provide information to taxpayers easily and to facilitate them in completing tax-related procedures. The new website and mobile application were launched by Commissioner General of Taxation at MIRA Fathuhulla Jameel and Chairman of the Board of MIRA Ahmed Saruvash Adam.

MIRA stated that its website will allow all application forms to be completed and submitted through the website. The Live Chat function has also been introduced on the website. MIRA also included interactive guides that provide easy access to important tax information. In addition, the website is designed to provide easy access to tax laws and regulations, statistics published by MIRA, and other important news and information.

MIRA also stated that the newly launched mobile application will provide a range of services including an online portal called MIRA Connect for filing tax returns and an online portal called VaaruPay which accepts other taxes and fees will also be available. The application will allow users to identify important tax deadlines and send calendar reminders to their phones. Users can also withdraw tokens and view the queue order at MIRA counters. In addition, tax-related information can be requested for appointments and information sessions through the application. It can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
