Cambodia expresses interest in Maldivian fish exports

Cambodia has expressed interest in importing Maldivian fish products.

Speaking at the Maldives-Cambodia Business Forum, Vice President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce Lim Heng highlighted the numerous opportunities for business collaboration between the two countries, especially in the fisheries sector. He said exporting Maldivian fish products to Cambodia will benefit both countries, as fish products are in demand by tourists visiting Cambodia.

Moreover, Vice President Heng explored further avenues for collaboration in tourism and agriculture. He highlighted that Cambodia has an abundance of fertile land that is available for Maldivian investment, while the Maldives can export agricultural products to Cambodia. He added that both countries are developing economically and that Cambodia's economy grew at 5.5% last year and is expected to grow at 7% this year.

The Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce have signed an agreement that will open possibilities for building trade relations, increasing trade, expanding investments, and further enhancing industrial, business, and economic cooperation between the Maldives and Cambodia.
