Plant a Tree project receives good response: Wellness Matters

Wellness Matters, a non-government organisation (NGO), has revealed that its Plant a Tree project to identify and revive endangered plants in the Maldives and produce healthy food has received a great response. The NGO noted the response received from different parts of the Maldives within three months of its inception.

Wellness Matters was founded five years ago by Zulfa Naseer after she attended a wellness programme in Malaysia. Her goal was to bring the positive change she found within herself to her friends and family while undergoing the programme. The project has been in operation for 90 days and has expanded across the country receiving a lot of support, according to Wellness Matters. The project is being implemented in 17 islands and 33 private companies, nine institutions and 18 schools have joined Wellness Matters.

Wellness Matters said that schools that are participating in the project are involving their students in these activities and providing information through their clubs and associations. As such, Milandhoo School in Shaviyani Atoll, Veymandoo School in Thaa Atoll, and the Haa Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre have done remarkable efforts and benefited from the vegetables and fruits from the trees planted.
