Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has opened the opportunity for nominee submissions for Rehendhi Award 2023. The ministry revealed applications for the Rehendhi Award are open until February 13.
The Rehendhi Award is dedicated to women who have contributed to national service, and to the role of women in national development and community building, the protection of women's rights in society, and the individuals, institutions, and organisations working for the advancement of women. The purpose of the awards is to celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of women in the Maldives and to empower more women to play key roles in national development.
Rehendhi Award will be conferred in three categories, which are awards for women and organisations, institutional gender mainstreaming, and women development committees (WDC). Interested individuals or organisations can nominate others or themselves for the awards. Nominees are required to be a Maldivian national or an organisation registered in the Maldives, not a convicted criminal or a recipient of the National Award, and should have five years of experience in a field related to the category.
The ministry stated that nominees that receive 75% in the evaluation process will be called for an interview. The evaluation and interview will be conducted by the Rehendhi Award Committee.
