Addu development ongoing with citizen's manifesto: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has assured the development of Addu City is undertaken in accordance with the manifesto of the Addu citizens without any changes. He made the remarks at a gathering held with the citizen of Feydhoo, Addu.

Speaking at the gathering, President Solih said the country cannot develop without the development of Addu, noting the city's development is closely linked to the economic growth of the country. The president mentioned the development of Addu is linked to the development of Gan International Airport (GIA). He said the project is currently in the final stage of tendering and will soon be handed over to the contractor. He said major economic revolutions can be witnessed in Addu.

Moreover, in reference to past developments, President Solih said the biggest projects in Addu were launched during the current presidential term. As such, he highlighted the reclamation of 198h of land and the construction of roads in Addu as the most sought projects.

The Addu City Land Reclamation Project commenced on January 5, 2023, and is worth USD84 million. The population of Addu is over 30,000 and many development projects are being implemented in the city.
