Evaluation of land plot applications to be completed in February

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has stated that the evaluation of the applications submitted for the land plots in the Greater Male’ Region will be completed in February. The ministry stated that the land plots will be issued in the middle of the year after the publication of the final list of recipients.

The planning ministry accepted applications through the Gedhoruverin Portal from June to September 2022. The ministry plans to give out 4,000 housing units under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme and 5,000 land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme, which includes 1,000 land plots from Hulhumale', 2,000 land plots from Gulhifalhu, and 2,000 land plots from Giraavaru. The ministry received over 20,000 applications for housing units under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme and over 15,000 applications for land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme.

The ministry stated that the formulation of the list of recipients is being carried out in two stages. The first stage involves evaluating and verifying the information in the applications and attached documents. The first stage is expected to be completed in February, afterward the applications will be marked and the temporary list will be publicised, and the final list will be formulated after opening the temporary list to complaints.
