Over 240 individuals released after drug treatment

National Drug Agency (NDA) has revealed that 242 individuals were released after completing treatment at various drug rehabilitation centres in 2022.

The statistics published by NDA show that over 1,017 individuals went into treatment and 775 were in the programme by the end of 2022, including 317 individuals at the community-based service centre in Male’. The statistics also show that 146 individuals were being treated at the drug treatment and rehabilitation centre in Himmafushi, Kaafu Atoll, and 143 individuals were at the halfway house community service centre in Hulhumale’.

Additionally, 111 individuals were treated at the drug and detoxification centres in Hithadhoo, Addu City, 69 individuals were treated at the centre in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and 55 were treated at the centre in Fuvahmulah City. Gagan Clinic treated 89 individuals, and the Vilunu rehabilitation centre in Hulhumeedhoo treated 36 individuals.

NDA stated that it had made a successful effort to help the numerous individuals registered for treatment in 2022.
