MWSC to bring a 3,000T water plant into service in August

Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) has announced efforts are underway to bring a water plant with a capacity to produce 3,000T of water to increase the capacity of water services in the Greater Male' Region.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Hassan Shah said MWSC is already producing 20,000T of water and that 18,000T of water is consumed daily. In addition, he noted the demand for water is increasing due to the increasing population in the Greater Male' Region. He, therefore, added that a 3,000T water production plant is being brought from Singapore and is expected to be operational in August.

MWSC is currently producing water from three areas in Male' City. The government has allocated an additional land plot to MWSC to expand its services. MWSC has revealed plans to install production tanks with a capacity of 13,000T in the newly allocated land plot.
