Maldives to be promoted at 37 international events this year

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has revealed that it will participate in 28 fairs abroad and hold nine roadshows to promote Maldives as a tourism destination in 2023.

According to MMPRC, the first fair to be held this year is the Fitur Fair in Madrid, Spain, from January 18-22. MMPRC will participate in five fairs and two road shows in May.

MMPRC conducted many activities last year. These activities have been conducted with those involved in the tourism industry. The MMPRC team has won the World Leading Tourist Board award for the first time last year against 28 other tourist boards. The success of the efforts to promote the country is also evident from the increasing number of tourists coming to the country.

The government aimed to bring in 1.6 million tourists by 2022. The target was achieved on December 20 last year. The government aims to attract 1.8 million tourists by 2023.
