Defence Minister appointed as President’s campaign spokesperson

Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has been appointed as President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s campaign spokesperson for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) primary election.

Campaign Manager Mohamed Nashiz said that Minister Mariya will now be responsible for providing campaign-related information to the media and MDP members. Minister Mariya has been heavily involved in President Solih’s campaign since it began.

President Solih and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed are contesting in the MDP primary election, to be held on January 28. Both candidates are holding campaign activities in the capital Male’ City and the atolls.
