Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has arrived in Fuvahmulah City for his campaign for the presidential primary election of the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Nasheed will contend in the primary election to be held on January 28. Both candidates will be conducting campaign activities in Male' City and different parts of the country. As such, Nasheed visited Fuvahmulah where he is also scheduled to conduct campaign activities.
President Nasheed launched his campaign on December 29, 2022, at a rally in Sultan Park in Male'. His campaign team has so far visited several islands in the northernmost atoll and met with MDP members on each island.
President Solih also launched his campaign for the primary election. As such, his campaign team has already started trips to the atolls in the Maldives.
