Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed a contract with telecommunications company Dhiraagu to install and operate rooftop towers in Hiyaa Towers 2 and 3 in Hulhumale’. The cellular towers are expected to improve mobile coverage in the Hiyaa area.
HDC is making efforts to improve mobile coverage and services for the growing population in the Hiyaa area. The company had installed four cellular towers in the Hiyaa area prior to the residents moving in, and Dhiraagu and Ooredoo Maldives have been using the towers to provide their services.
HDC is responsible for building the telecommunications infrastructure in Hulhumale’ Phase II. The company received the first telecommunication infrastructure license from the Communication Authority of the Maldives (CAM) earlier this month.
