International Teachers’ Conference to be held in Kulhudhuffushi

The National Institute of Education (NIE) has announced that the Sixth International Teachers’ Conference will be held in Kulhudhuffushi City from December 24-25 under the theme Education for Current Perspectives and Future Directions.

The International Teachers' Conference held every two years by the NIE is the largest such conference for teachers in the Maldives. The conference is aimed at establishing a culture of research among teachers working in schools and opening the Maldives to the international community. The theme of the conference Education for Current Perspective and Future Directions is dedicated to the changes that have taken place in the world internationally and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4). NIE said the conference will focus on the current state of education and future efforts to provide education, adding the conference will feature local and foreign education experts as keynote speakers.

The International Teachers’ Conference is open for teachers and other professionals in the education sector including foreign invitees. It is held to academically discuss changes seen in the education sector and conduct relevant research. The conference also aims to offer teachers a platform to share their experiences and learn from one another in the context of research and practice.
