Dhivehi FM Award 2021 has been announced to award the most popular musicians among listeners.
Radio Production Manager at Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu Nasrulla Idrees said the awards will be given to the musicians whose works garnered the most requests from listeners in 2021. He said the awards aim to celebrate the talent of Maldivian artists and will be held on the night of December 20. He added that future editions of the awards will have more categories.
The awards will be given out under four categories, which are for the song that received the most requests on air, the most popular music band, the male and female musicians who were most played on radio programmes, as well as original music that has been played the most on air.
Executive Producer Mizna Ahmed said renowned musicians will join the awards ceremony including Riffath Rameez, Ahmed Amir, Shifa Thaufeeq, and Mohamed Abdul Ghanee.
Dhivehi FM is the music radio channel of Public Service Media (PSM), formed in April 2006.
