Transparent CSR policy being developed for government companies

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has begun works to formulate a transparent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy for government companies to eliminate corruption.

The PCB said the policy is being formulated to strengthen the management of government-owned companies and enhance transparency, which is one of the good governance policies included in the government's Strategic Action Plan. This is an anti-corruption and transparent two-sided CSR policy, the board said adding with this policy, marketing, sponsorship, and advertising activities will be identified and separated from CSR activities.

PCB is formulating the rule with Transparency Maldives. With the formulation and implementation of this policy, the CSR of government-owned companies will further be polished.

PCB said the policy is expected to be formulated and implemented in the second quarter of 2023.
