President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have departed on an official visit to Qatar at the invitation of Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the visit, President Solih and First Lady Fazna will attend the semifinal matches of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted in Qatar. They are scheduled to conclude their visit and return to Malé City on December 15.
The visit is symbolic of the close and stable bilateral relations the Maldives have with Qatar.
