Maldives wins five gold medals in Culinary World Cup

The Maldives has won five gold medals at the Culinary World Cup 2022.

The Culinary World Cup held every four years is the largest culinary challenge in the world. The event was held in Luxembourg from November 26 to 30.

The team from the Maldives was represented by Heritance Aarah Maldives at the Villeroy and Boch Culinary World Cup Luxembourg 2022. The seven-member team of Maldives from Heritance Aarah Maldives won five Gold, four Silver, and four Bronze medals, scoring the highest number of wins for an individual hotel at the competition.

Speaking to PSM News, Corporate Chef and General Manager of Heritage Aarah Maldives Lalith Gunasekara said it was a different experience to see the work of many different people. He described it as a pleasure and a great achievement to see the work of the world's greatest chefs and win prizes in such a competitive competition.

The Villeroy and Boch Culinary World Cup is one of the biggest and best-known culinary contests in the world. This year, 15 national teams and 15 junior national teams took part in the two competition categories.
