World Bank delegation visits the Maldives

A delegation from the World Bank has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit.

The delegation is led by the Vice President of the World Bank for South Asia Region Martin Raiser. The delegation was welcomed at the Velana International Airport (VIA) by officials of the Ministry of Finance.

In a tweet, Vice President Raiser said that he was pleased to visit the Maldives for the first time after being appointed for South Asia Region. He expressed hope to engage with clients and partners, explore new opportunities for transformative growth and learn more about development priorities to confront a challenging global context during the visit.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer welcomed Vice President Raiser to the Maldives, expressing hope to have very constructive discussions during the visit.

Vice President Raiser and his accompanying delegation are on a four-day visit to the Maldives.
