The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to investigate disciplinary cases against Chief Magistrate Mohamed Hashim of the Seenu Judicial Constituency and Magistrate Ziyaadha Thahir of Hithadhoo Magistrate Court.
JSC said Magistrate Rafeeuddin Ahmed of Hithadhoo Magistrate Court had acted against the Code of Conduct for judges in issuing a press release on a remand decision. The investigation has also found that Chief Magistrate Hashim and Magistrate Ziyaadha have also acted in violation of the Code of Conduct.
JSC has formed a committee to further investigate the actions of the two magistrates.
