Singapore and Maldives commit to strengthening cooperation

The Maldives and Singapore have committed to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries. The discussion was held during a meeting after the High Commissioner of Singapore to the Maldives Soo Kok Leng presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

At the meeting, President Solih congratulated High Commissioner Leng on his new appointment and reaffirmed the two countries' longstanding bilateral relations based on shared values and people-to-people contact. The president said that Singapore is an important development partner for the Maldives.

Additionally, President Solih and High Commissioner Leng discussed various issues of common interest, including regional and international collaboration, trade and investment cooperation, tourism cooperation, and climate adaptation. The high commissioner also commended President Solih and his administration on the successful management of COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Before concluding the call, President Solih and High Commissioner Leng expressed their commitment to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
