Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has launched the second phase of the Geveshi Gulhun Campaign to create awareness of and eliminate domestic abuse and violence.
A special ceremony was held to launch the second phase of the campaign, featuring a series of stories teaching children good morals and family relationships, an audiobook for the magazine published by the gender ministry, and the second song for the campaign.
At the ceremony, Vice President Faisal Naseem launched a series of six storybooks designed to raise awareness among children about good habits related to family relationships. The series contains instructive stories that are age-appropriate, vocabulary-building, and scenery.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi said the aim of the campaign was to change the attitude of the society and create strong relationships. She also said the campaign is increasing public awareness.
The Geveshi Gulhun Campaign was launched in 2020 by the gender ministry with the assistance of the government of Pakistan. The campaign has been a great success for the community and is also being conducted in the atolls.
