USAID discuss expanding partnership with Maldives

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has discussed expanding the partnership with the Maldives. The discussion was held during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and the Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia at USAID Änjali Kaur.

During the meeting, Minister Shahid and Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur discussed the growing partnership between the Maldives and USAID, especially in the areas of public finance management, democratic governance, individual and community resilience, and the environment.

At the meeting, both Minister Shahid and Deputy Assistant Administrator Kaur further reflected on the ongoing projects of USAID in the Maldives and explored potential avenues to expand the partnership. Minister Shahid also expressed appreciation to USAID and the government of the United States (US) for the continuous contributions made towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives and stressed the importance of sustaining the partnership.
