Photo contest opened for Fifth Tourism Master Plan

The Ministry of Tourism has opened for photo submissions for the Fifth Tourism Master Plan. The opportunity is open for those who wish to submit photographs in five areas.

The areas open for photo submissions are underwater beauty, tourism products, island photos, and aerial photographs of islands and culture, people, and lifestyle. The tourism ministry said each submission should contain at least 20 photographs. The final photos will be selected from the submissions, with the advice of the technical experts of the ministry. The tourism ministry has said that the copyright of the photographs will be taken to the ministry upon selection. The deadline to submit photos, quotations, and relevant documents is 1000hrs on December 7, according to the ministry.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the Fifth Tourism Master Plan in 2019. The master plan is set to include promoting sustainable development in the main economic sectors as well as enhancing the participation of women in the tourism sector, protecting the environment and utilising sustainable energy in tourism-related activities.

Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated that the Fifth Tourism Master Plan will be launched at the start of 2023.
