The Ministry of Health has contracted Samal Constructions Private Limited to construct the extension building of the Heath Centre in Olhuvelifushi, Lhaviyani Atoll.
Samal Constructions was contracted to expand the health centre within 165 days at a cost of USD320,000. The company is tasked with constructing a portico in addition to the extension building of the health centre.
Olhuvelifushi is the least populated island in Lhaviyani Atoll with a population of 800 residents. However, the government is also making efforts to develop public services in small populated islands. This year's state budget includes the development of health service centres in 60 islands and many of them have already been handed over to contractors and the projects are underway.
