The President’s Office has stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has shown he is capable of maintaining the government coalition.
Speaking at a press conference, the Spokesperson at the President’s Office Miuvaan Mohamed said that the past four years have shown that President Solih is capable of maintaining the government coalition, despite the differences of opinion. He said that the president makes every decision based on what is best for the nation and that he seeks recommendations from the coalition prior to making major decisions.
Furthermore, Spokesperson Miuvaan said that the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is the most experienced political party and, as the leader of the party, President Solih has the capabilities to maintain the government coalition.
The government coalition consists of MDP, Jumhooree Party (JP), Adhaalath Party (AP), and the Maldives Reform Movement (MRM).
