Vira Centre established to provide Asandha and NSPA services

The Vira Centre has been opened to provide services of the Aasandha national health insurance scheme and the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) under one roof.

The Vira Centre was opened at a special ceremony by Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi. The centre is located at the Fen Building in Male’ City and is open from 0800hrs to 2200hrs on weekdays.

The Vira Centre will allow individuals to conveniently seek Aasandha and NSPA services. It will provide all the information related to medical treatment for those seeking government assistance and will give instructions on the process of seeking treatment. Special counters have been established at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and Hulhumale’ Hospital, and further information can be obtained by calling 1400.

Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Managing Director of Aasandha Company Limited Ibrahim Rasheed said the services will soon be available at ADK Hospital and Treetop Hospital, adding the aim is to make the services of Aasandha and NSPA available in all tertiary hospitals through counters that will be open 24 hours a day. He also said that individuals will now be able to apply for any of the services with one form.
